Presbyterian Pantry

The Presbyterian Food Pantry of Green Bay, serving guests on the near West side, is a joint effort among First Pres, First United Presbyterian Church - De Pere, and Wequiok Presbyterian Church. The Pantry was formerly a part of First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay, and while the Pantry has become a stand-alone 501(c)3 (charity), able to accept monetary donations as well as food from any source, First Pres continues to house and financially support the work being done here.

An especially helpful program with UW Extension has been instituted, which provides guests with information and education about healthy alternatives, as well as a sample and a recipe using the ingredients they’ll be receiving that day. Those who participate in the 10-minute session receive a voucher to redeem for an extra meat that day. In addition, the Pantry Board is making a concerted effort to provide fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible. Program in session:

Pantry Board President Mary Ginnebaugh stated, "The Pantry is run and staffed entirely with volunteers. Held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to noon, we usually have approximately 100 families each Tuesday. We depend completely on donations and are very appreciative of our donors, as well as our reciprocal relationship with many other area Pantries.”

Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay Reverend Doctor Randal Argall added, "The Pantry Board and other Pantry volunteers are dedicated to helping our neighbors with hunger issues, and First Presbyterian Church is committed to assisting in the effort by providing the space required as well as some monetary assistance."

In 2013 Molina Healthcare donated 2 upright freezers, therefore allowing the Pantry to be able to provide perishable items such as meat and other things on a regular basis.

And in 2016, a Boy Scout, who is a student at Preble School, as well as a First Presbyterian Church member Wyatt Stenson, built new cabinets and shelving for the Pantry as part of his Eagle Scout project. This has enhanced our capacity to store non-perishable food items. The Seymour Park Neighborhood Association Community Garden shares its bounty with the Pantry, and is always in need of assistance to help care for the garden - weeding, etc. Updates can be found on its Facebook page, and you can message the Association there as well. OBJECTIVES

The Presbyterian Pantry objectives shall be to provide food and various sundries for personal hygiene to any individual regardless of age, sex, race, health, religious affiliation or economic condition.
