Mary Belanger

Custodian / Groundskeeper

Mary has been the First Pres Custodian / Groundskeeper at First Pres since 2002. In her role, she cleans and beautifies the church inside and outside, including the yardwork. She most enjoys the outside work during the beautiful Spring, Summer, and Fall months. Mary enjoys riding her bicycle, playing with grandchildren, and staying fit through healthy eating and performing CrossFit. CrossFit is constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement which gives a person the opportunity to betters themselves as individuals and prepares them for anything life throws their way.  Mary is married, has four children, and eight grandchildren. 

Connie Greenawald

Connie began her career at First Pres in May 2016 with more than 30 years of communications experience. Her favorite part of her job is being able to spread the message of inclusion. Prior to joining First Pres, Connie held positions at several area non-profits and a for-profit. She currently volunteers as a Citizen Advocate for Kate Parizek, serves on the Breath of Life Foundation board of directors, and the American Foundation of Counseling Services marketing committee. Married to Scott, and living in Abrams, they have five children and 10 grandchildren between them. Connie enjoys bicycling, reading, and spending time with family.

Ben Menghini

Ben assumed his new position on July 10, 2018. Originally from Central Illinois near St. Louis, he graduated from Eden Theological Seminary in 2015 with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies. His thesis addressed Christian responses to violence in a globalizing world. He has worked as a church administrator and chaplain, in addition to being a guest lecturer in St. Louis and Madison. In 2018 he led the Church History section for the UCC Lay Academy. He enjoys reading and photography. His wife Blakeley is a quartet violist in Door County and recently finished her DMA at UW Madison.

Leah Mott

Leah has worked for FPC since 2005. Prior to working at the church she was an insurance agent for over 20 years. She enjoys working at the church, as she was married here, and has been a member for 40 years. She knows just about everyone and just enjoys working with and for the members of this church. She is married to Lorin and has one son, Scott and three step-children, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She enjoys working for the church and helping the members. Her hobbies are gardening, reading and playing scrabble. 

Lynne Nelson

Lynne is new to First Pres as of October, 2017. She takes on the role of Financial Secretary here in addition to keeping the books at three other ministries in Green Bay. Lynne's faithful and dedicated service to God and His people allow her to encourage and support those she serves with. Lynne has been married to her husband Chris for the past 19 years and together they have four children. She is active in her church, loves cheering on her kids in their sports activities, and enjoys taking family trips and serving the community.

Bob Nickel

Since July 2006, Bob has served as the Sturgeon Bay High School principal and has been with First Pres since 2016. Prior to becoming a school administrator, Bob taught high school business courses for 23 years. He holds a bachelors degree from UW – Whitewater and a masters degree from Marian University. Bob’s avocation is that of church musician. He has served as organist in a variety of churches since high school and has also directed church brass, handbell, and vocal choirs. He holds a Church Music Certificate from Silver Lake College. Bob has served as organist at First Presbyterian since June 2016. Bob and his wife Mary also became members of First Pres in 2016.

Rose Schumacher

Our new Chancel Choir Accompanist

Rose joined the staff of First Presbyterian in August 2018. She has taken piano lessons since she was six years old. She also plays the organ and takes voice lessons.

She is in high school, and she and her two sisters have been home-schooled their whole lives. She enjoys singing, acting in community theater, composing music, making films with her sisters, drawing, painting, and sewing.
